Tonia and I stopped for the night in Omaha on our way back to Colorado from Illinois and caught this at one of the local arthouse theaters. Great theater that reminds me of the Sie in a lot of ways. Nice to see stuff like this thriving in unexpected places.
I love the themes the movie deals with: art, climate change, evolution, bodily autonomy; and the production design, lighting and acting are all great. However, it felt too constrained both in terms of the locations/sets it uses and the inconclusiveness of the story. Both of these feel like budgetary constraints.
Having watched a lot of his films again (or for the first time in some cases) recently, it was great to see a new film of his in a theater. I definitely want to revisit it.
