We interrupted the tail end of HELP ME… to catch the Shudder secret screening of Argento’s latest, even though it comes to Shudder mid-month anyway.
Somewhat a return to form for Argento, with all that that entails. The goofy snake scene aside, most of it was pretty well done. With Argento, you know things can veer off the beaten path at any moment, and that certainly happens here, often to jarring effect. Sometimes that works well and sometimes it just leaves a more interesting thread behind.
I really like the performance by the leading lady, Ilenia Pastorelli. She did a great job as a blind person struggling to adjust to her new disability. It came across as very believable.
Loved the callbacks to SUSPIRIA with the service dog and a blind person both figuring prominently.
