Viewing Notes

Second film of the Halloween special, also mostly expected since Jill Schoelen was announced as a guest. Still fun to re-watch this even though I’d only seen it recently for the first time.

Partly an homage to William Castle’s gimmick films via the in-movie films that are shown in the theater, and partly a send up of slasher films from the ‘80s.

The in-movie films are some of the best parts, all non-existent movies whose portions were filmed by the production’s first director who was fired three weeks into the main production.

Tom Villard as Toby steals the show though. His performance starts out as low key in the background and gradually gets more fun and unhinged as things progress!

Also weird to hear that Schoelen dated Keanu Reeves and Brad Pitt back-to-back!
