Viewing Notes

Finally got my big box of Shout Factory sale discs in the mail so I dove into this since it’s on my October list.

The movie is even more socially relevant now. It’s too bad Marilyn Chambers’ career as an actress didn’t take off after this because it deserved to. She’s great in her first non-adult role as a very girl-next-door sort. It was wild to watch an interview with Cronenberg who said his first choice was Sissy Spacek. I could totally see that.

For the first time I noticed a goof in a scene late in the movie where a three-quarter overhead shot clearly shows a cameraman in the back seat of a car, twice! Now that I’ve noticed it I’ll never be able to not see it.
