Went to the, as far as I can tell, ONLY screening of this film in a theater in all of Colorado. But it’s Neil Marshall, and even though he’s never regained his peak movie making days that he had with DOG SOLDIERS and THE DESCENT, it’s still Neil Marshall. So you go.
Pretty sparse turnout. I think there were maybe eight other people there?
Still not a return to form for Marshall but entertaining enough. You can tell this was made during COVID by the isolated locations, small cast, etc.
I love the premise and the rubber suit monsters are pretty fun but the pacing was off and there really didn’t feel like much tension was ever built up. Probably because you don’t ever really care about the characters.
I’ll probably rewatch on Shudder once it drops there.
I completely forgot that Charlotte Kirk also co-wrote and starred in Marshall’s THE RECKONING, and as I postulated after the movie, is engaged to Marshall. So there’s that.
