Three young martial arts students and their teacher are beaten up badly by a wandering man who proclaims himself “a corrector of bad kung-fu.” Determined to avenge their teacher and regain their honor, the three students all go their separate ways to find kung-fu masters who will take them as students.

Some fun training sequences with a trio of non-traditional masters and a great final fight sequence aside, this one didn’t do a lot for me. Not that the plot matters too much but in this case it’s even more paper thin than usual. I did really like Wong Mei-Mei as Madame Fang the tofu maker though. Lo Mar (aka John Law Ma among other pseudonyms) didn’t make a lot of martial arts films.
The martial arts in this hues more towards the traditional Peking Opera style of balletic moves at a slower pace, which by 1979 probably felt outdated.
