Dr. Janos Rukh discovers a certain type of radium that has almost magical healing properties. But the element has a dangerous side, too, and it has already started affecting Rukh. Viewing Notes

More sci-fi than horror with a unique, interesting story and another good pairing of Karloff and Lugosi. Karloff gets the more interesting character but Lugosi’s is the more sympathetic. The African safari scenes are of course racist in their depiction of Africans and it all looks like it was shot in Griffith Park in L.A. but it adds an interesting bent to the story.
