Overview
Masaru Aso was the lab assistant of geneticist Doctor Mochizuki, used as one of his experiments related the creation of the Neo Organism, enabling him to transform into a grasshopper-like being called Kamen Rider ZO. He fled into the mountainside and went into a coma before he was awakened by a telepathic call two years later with an unconscious urge to protect Hiroshi Mochizuki, the son of Doctor Mochizuki.

Viewing Notes
This started either just before or just after midnight MT here, so I’m counting it for Sunday. Great to see a quick one hour KR movie show up as a kind of palette cleanser before getting into the overnight and progressively weirder stuff. I should have known by the look and feel of it that this was directed by Amemiya. Totally fits his style. I wonder if he did any/many episodes of the series as well?
I’ve seen plenty of KR stuff but not very many of the movies, so it was a treat to see ZO. Makes me want to track down episodes of this series.
