This is AGFA’s first 4K release, made from the newly discovered 16mm interneg print, and it looks excellent! It does a great job of retaining all the graininess while adding a lot of needed clarity. I don’t think this movie has ever looked better since the first day it was screened.
I love movies about making movies, and this goes even deeper with three layers (well four actually). I think it made more sense to me in its totality this time than the first time I watched it. Back then I didn’t know all of its connections to Romero and the Pittsburg filmmaking scene. Great to get to connect more dots this time around.
