Viewing Notes

Since Barbenheimer is still occupying a majority the major format screens we decided we’d better go see this in the Dolby theater while we had the chance instead of waiting for a week night. A pretty sparse crowd at our 10 AM screening, with maybe half the people there with very young kids. Not sure I’d bring a 5-6 year old to see this movie, as it’s a little dark for that age, but who am I to judge.

I think I still prefer the original live action film but this was fun and I dug the animation style. I loved the Godzilla and Shaw Brothers references and clips; the music was perfect and I really dug the score by Reznor/Ross, though it was funny to see their names in the credits. Also great to have Jackie Chan voicing Splinter and Ice Cube voicing Superfly. Great choices in both of those cases.

I’m totally down for a sequel so I hope this does well.
