I love the opening and closing shots through the glass but not so much the upper class romantic comedy in-between. I don’t think this film was Hitchcock’s choice and if I recall correctly the lead actress, Betty Balfour, was forced on him from another studio. She does a good job in the lead role and we get another fine performance from Gordon Harker as her father. We last saw him in THE FARMER’S WIFE as the long-suffering farm hand. His role here is the exact opposite as a rich stock broker. I’m going to have to see what else he’s been in as he’s a great character actor.
