I only just watched THE NUN for he first time earlier in the week, so the characters and history were fresh in my mind going into this film. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much but I’m happy to say I was disappointed in the best way as this was pretty enjoyable despite a somewhat disjointed plot that felt a little rushed.
I’m pretty jaded when it comes to horror films’ attempts to actually scare the audience so it’s a rare treat when one succeeds in sending chills up my spine. The scares aren’t always cohesive but there are some genuinely scary moments to be had throughout. This feels like one of those films I’ll continue to revisit even though it’s flawed.
I saw a 4:15 showing at AMC in the Dolby Atmos theater. I was one of only two people at my screening (perfect for me, bad for the movie). This really benefits from Atmos and I’d highly recommend catching it in theaters while you can just for that reason.
