I’ve had the Kino Lorber box set for years now and have watched most of the well known films but there are a number of his lesser known works that I still need to get to. So today I decided to fill a gap and watch Lang’s interpretation of the Madame Butterfly story. HARAKIRI shows off Lang’s great attention to detail in the production design and his fascination with Asian culture. It’s always odd watching white actors playing Asian characters.
