My fourth film of DFF46 was a 4:30 screening, so I left immediately after work to get there in time. Despite the early time there was a pretty good crowd.
I’m interested to know what went into the decision to shoot in what looked like Academy ratio instead of scope. Even in this ratio, the landscapes are hauntingly beautiful. That contrasts well with the cruelty and stupidity of the primary characters. It makes me want to read up more on the early history of both Chile and Venezuela.
