Caught the 6:30 screening at the Drafthouse. I liked, didn’t love, it. My two complaints are the low speed car chases (doesn’t anyone in Hollywood know how to do exciting car chases anymore?) and that the whole no dialogue thing felt too forced, mainly in the first third of the film. After that, it’s fine.
The action is fun and kinetic but it’s not operatic or as excessive as it could have been. Still, it’s fun. This will be a good movie to revisit in the Secret Cinema. I’m just happy we got a new John Woo movie in a theater.
