Overview

Prominent gang leader Cyrus calls a meeting of New York’s gangs to set aside their turf wars and take over the city. At the meeting, a rival leader kills Cyrus, but a Coney Island gang called the Warriors is wrongly blamed for Cyrus’ death. Before you know it, the cops and every gangbanger in town is hot on the Warriors’ trail.

Viewing Notes

Opened up my brand new 4K boxset from Arrow Video! We went with the better theatrical cut for this viewing. I’m not a big fan of the comic book page inserts/transitions from the director’s cut.

Of note, I played this movie on VHS for one of my birthday parties as a kid for a bunch of friends. Probably my favorite Walter Hill film.
