I was ready to suspend a LOT of disbelief and it still wasn’t enough to fully buy into the premise for this movie. And you really need to be able to skip over all the illogical stuff to fully enjoy this I think.
I do admire that they put every meager penny into what you see on screen, though sometimes their modest budget betrays them. I also like that there are still some small /mid budget movies getting made (this one has a reported budget of $20 million) so cheers to that.
The acting is good enough and the crew does a decent job of pulling off the weightlessness of space (with a few funny exceptions) but it suffers by not taking the time to build up more depth to the characters and their relationships (to each other, but also to people back on Earth) and creating more “will they or won’t they” tension before committing them to their paths. The 1 hour 45 minute runtime flies by too fast unfortunately and the ending feels rushed and unresolved.
