Viewing Notes

This is a variation of the “old dark house” and “movie about movies” tropes, except it’s a play within a play in a theatre. The further it moves along, the more fun it gets. I still think these types of films are better executed as talkies, but Leni’s films really set the stage for that in the silent era.
