Silent Saturday! Finishing out my Paul Leni discs with a first time viewing of this Universal classic, based on the novel by Victor Hugo. It has some similarities to The Hunchback of Notre Dame: disfigurement, social class issues, forbidden love, etc.
The restoration looks great. I watched the version with the original Movietone score. I’ll have to watch it with the new score too at some point.
Veidt is great but for me the highlight is Homo the wolf, who steals the show!
