Viewing Notes

I finally watched this on Netflix Instant as preparation for Hong-Jin Na’s The Yellow Sea. The violence makes you squirm at times. This film is about impotence in many different ways: the antagonist’s sexual impotence; the protagonist’s impotence when it comes to actually stopping the killer; the police’s impotence; and finally the audience’s complete impotence to effect any sort of palatable outcome.

Well worth a watch. I’m now convinced that the South Koreans have some serious violence issues they need to work out!
