Viewing Notes

I think I’ll need to watch it again to firm up my impressions of it. It’s a mixed, mostly positive bag, but I was expecting something… more? It felt maybe too restrained for a Fede Alvarez movie and there were parts that felt rushed. Overall I think it could’ve used a little slower pace to build better character moments.

There are lots of callbacks to ALIEN, ALIENS and PROMETHEUS. Most of these were fine but some of them felt like they were trying a little too hard to tie it all in together. Overall though I really like the story and how it’s small enough to stand on its own but also connects to this larger world.
