A shitstorm of bad news sends out-of-work filmmaker Jimmy Lang spiraling into an out-of-control bender, during which he claims to have been abducted by aliens. Fearing they’ll come back, he contacts his old friend Stiggs to help him gear up for war. When the sun sets, the duo are thrown into a hallucinatory explosion of aliens, drugs, booze, and all-out carnage.

I think you either enjoy Begos’ films or you don’t and there probably isn’t a lot lot of middle ground out there. I fall into the camp of people that do; that being said, this feels like a lesser effort than some of his bigger movies like BLISS, VFW and CHRISTMAS BLOODY CHRISTMAS. It was still a great way to end the festival because it’s so over the top and non-stop insanity, all packed into a tight 76 minutes. It does get a little tedious by the end but still a fun watch. I really appreciate the effort he and his crew put into films like this.
It’s pretty funny that I’ve seen every one of Begos’ feature films at a festival! His first two at FF, BLISS at Cinepocalypse, and the last three at Telluride.
