This doesn’t deserve the poor ratings it’s gotten on IMDb by uncultured fools who’ve never seen a truly awful film. Its greatest sin is that it’s mostly boring. However, the black and white cinematography is well done and the set design is pretty good. With the exception of Karloff, the acting is fairly mediocre. I like the bandaged monster quite a bit I just wish there was more action. Honestly, this feels like a failed marriage of classic Universal horror and William Castle-style tongue-in-cheek exploitation.
I’m not sure why this is called FRANKENSTEIN 1970 since it came out in 1958 and appears to be set in its current time.
