Viewing Notes

Another straightforward narrative feature from Godfrey Ho! While still borrowing scenes from the first two movies, this one shifts part way through to Unit 731 staff and soldiers attempting to escape the Russians and Chinese by train through Manchuria and into occupied Korea at the tail end of the war. The story is more focused on crises of conscience of some of the men and staff, honor and betrayal. It throws in some awkwardly staged battle scenes and plenty more cruelty, this time more directed towards the Japanese.
