Last hurrah, for the time being, in Peoria, so one last outing to the Grand Prairie AMC. I’m not sure I’m ready to be nostalgic about the year 2000 yet. This is a self-aware HACKERS: goofy and stupid but it knows it is. And unlike HACKERS its computer graphics are intentionally crappy as commentary on the era. I do wish it would have gotten even crazier than it did. I thought it was going to after the party meltdown but then it just drained itself of energy for a while.
This is definitely a movie a lot of people are probably not gonna enjoy. You’re either in on the joke or you’re just gonna think it’s all stupid. Funny to see Rachel Zegler in this since she was born in 2001.
All that said, I look forward to someday doing a triple feature of this with HACKERS and LAWNMOWER MAN.
One thing’s for sure, this is so very much a Jason Coffman film. I felt like I was watching a pick from one of his marathons.
