Viewing Notes

My seventh movie of the marathon. This is very much a movie specifically NOT made for me but so very emblematic of the early 2000s indie scene. A lot of the film is in black and white, with flashbacks in color, which is disconcerting because it’s typically the other way around. Apparently it was supposed to be all black and white but the film crew inherited some color stock and made use of it.

It’s not a bad movie at all for what it is, and there’s plenty of goofiness to keep it entertaining. It reminded me a bit of Linklater’s SLACKER in that it’s a road movie without a road trip.
