Viewing Notes

Got to see this on the last day it’s playing in premium formats this week in a nearly empty Dolby Atmos theater. So OF course there was an elderly couple one of whom could NOT stay off her fucking phone. In the spirit of the season I didn’t go yell at them and just adjusted my position so I didn’t see it anymore. Sigh. Maybe I should go back to Peoria.

Given all the highly negative comments about this movie I expected to be disappointed but gotta say I liked this a lot. Maybe because I’m not very familiar with Kraven as a character from the comics except in the most surface way, so there weren’t any “changes” to disappoint me I guess.

Great to see Christopher Abbott show up in this. Ariana DeBose did nothing for me. I’m beginning to think I don’t like her much as an actor. Loving the Russell Crowe performances this year including this one! And Aaron Taylor-Johnson is pretty much perfectly cast as Kraven Kravinoff.

I liked that the stakes were of a smaller scale but I did wish some of the action scenes were a little longer and stronger.
