A lone drifter/gambler becomes involved with the son and widow of a man he killed and eventually betrays his code to assist her. An interesting blend of humor, melodrama and action that sometimes feels disjointed in its attempts to blend the three. Kinnosuke Nakamura does as good job balancing everything in the titular role as the reluctant anti-hero.
