Viewing Notes

Not as good as I was hoping. Li’s character is over-the-top serious playing against Kent Cheng’s bumbling, overweight cop and getting romantically entangled with his charge, the fetching Christy Chung. Chung’s character starts out as a sort of spoiled brat chaffing against the constraints of witness protection before falling for Li in a bit of Stockholm Syndrome.

The editing is jarring and the music gets repetitiously annoying pretty quickly. That said there’s still some fun action sequences including a big shootout in an indoor mall and the final fight in the house.
