Viewing Notes

Hoooooo boy was this a lot more ridiculous than I was expecting. So ridiculous that it almost (almost) redeems itself by crossing over into self-parody. This feels like a nepo vanity project for Shyamalan’s singer/actor daughter. And by “feels like” I mean, it is.

Hartnett doesn’t quite capture the inner schism required to really sell his character except in brief moments here and there (most notably the end) but he does give it a good try. He does manage to mostly pull off the “villain you kinda root for” routine and he’s certainly the only thing really worth watching this for.

I don’t get the whole Katherine Hepburn FBI profiler thing. I understand she’s a stand-in for Hartnett’s character’s mom but it’s all so nebulous that you’re mostly left shrugging at it.
