Viewing Notes
A well shot, beautiful looking “porno period drama” chock full of nudity from start to finish, complemented by plenty of spurting blood and severed heads and limbs. Ishii really elevates the material by taking it seriously and directing some beautiful set pieces. I love movies like this that are entirely filmed on sets, giving the crew absolute control of everything. The lighting in particular is excellent.
