An ok variation on Journey to the Center of the Earth but without any real resolution. You can infer a moral to the story, that being “take care of the Earth, it’s the only home we have” but they don’t actually give you anything solid at the end.
I really like the character of Dr. Lindsey, played by Marilyn Nash, who is a feminist. That’s a pretty rare thing in a movie that came out in 1951. The men are all assholes or failures in one way or another.
