The nadir of Argento’s long, prolific, if uneven, career. DARK GLASSES feels like a bit of a vindication 10 years after this mess was released. Many of the digital effects in particular are bad in that competent but jarring, ineffective way. Speaking of ineffective, Unax Ugalde’s performance as Jonathan Harker is uninspiring if I’m being kind. Considering the thin budget, this probably looks better than it has any right to.
I don’t know why I haven’t logged this before, since I definitely saw it when it came out and I’d been logging movies by then.
