Viewing Notes

An auteur masterpiece of late noir, Allen Baron’s Blast of Silence is just great! The urban New York City scenes are raw and realistic, as are the characters and the violence.

Easily the best use of narration in any movie I can remember seeing; and the smouldering, brassy jazz score is excellent.
