A pretty sparse tale of what faced pioneers as they made their way West in the 1800s. This isn’t the prettied up version we’re so accustomed to seeing in the Westerns of our youth. Instead, this presents the silence, drudgery, long days and nights, the emptiness and stillness of the Oregon desert; the continuous search for water along the way; and the uncertainty of both guides and pioneers of not only where they were headed, but how they were getting there.
Certainly not a movie for everyone, but I enjoyed it quite a bit.
