Not unwatchable but certainly not a great movie. Brody’s acting here is very pedestrian and flat, as is the story. While Argento has always been a style over substance sort of director, his more recent output seems to suffer more for that.
Giallo does have hints of classic Argento in it, especially the opening scene, but ultimately feels like a generic effort. Brody’s acting doesn’t help. Since I know Brody CAN be a good actor, I have a feeling his acting here is in response to bad direction.
