Viewing Notes

Directed by the great Howard Hawks, this role won Gary Cooper a well-deserved Oscar. Strange how I’d never seen this movie before, but have known about it for so long it seemed as if I had.

It’s a long movie and spends a lot of time on York’s back story leading up to his participation in World War I. It’s still very enjoyable to watch though.
