Overview
Tricia’s husband has been missing for seven years. Her younger sister Callie comes to live with her as the pressure mounts to finally declare him ‘dead in absentia’. Tricia is reluctant, always holding out hope, but Callie is practical and wants her to move on. As Tricia sifts through the wreckage and tries to move on with her life, Callie finds herself drawn to an ominous tunnel near the house.

Viewing Notes
While there are a few stumbling blocks, overall I really liked Absentia, an indie horror/mystery movie funded in part through Kickstarter. I think this is the first Kickstarter-funded movie I’ve ever watched.
There were parts of this movie that made me jump and/or gave me goosebumps, which is always a good indicator of the effectiveness of a horror movie on me.
I really took a liking to Katie Parker as well. She does some great acting here and she’s beautiful in a real human kind of way that’s very attractive. I’ll definitely make of point of trying to see more movies she’s been in.
