Admittedly, it takes a bit of time for Snow on tha Bluff to really sink in as you’re watching it. This is partly due to the found footage cinematography style and partly because it takes a while to get into the rhythm of the dialect and slang.
Once you’re in, however, you’re IN. The best part of Snow is that it feels real. I mean like “shit’s goin’ DOWN” real. The film also does a very good job of depicting the characters as well-rounded and complex. While Snow might be a shitty father and - boyfriend? husband? - and is obviously a criminal, he’s not heartless, has feelings and soul and dreams and all those things everyone else has. He also robs and shoots people and puts those he has feelings for in danger just by the nature of what he does.
I was surprised by how much I ended up liking this film. It’s definitely worth a watch, just be patient with it.
