Viewing Notes

With such an outstanding cast and being a retro noirish murder mystery set in 1950s Los Angeles, I obviously had high hopes for this film. While it doesn’t live up to its potential, it’s still a fairly entertaining movie to watch. Nolte turns in a pretty rough (in a good way) performance as the lead and… Jennifer Connelly, oh my god! No one told me she looked that gorgeous naked; and certainly no one told me she was actually naked in this or I’d have watched ages ago.

I do find it sad that she’s only used for her physical attributes though, considering she’s a damn good actress. She has very few lines and little to do outside of her sex scenes.
