Best thing about Shutter is that most of it was filmed on location in Japan (primarily Tokyo). Otherwise, this J-horror influenced remake of a Thai horror film (that’s a new one) is a bore. Haven’t seen the Thai film but heard it’s decent. This one, however, is not; the payoff is unfulfilling after the build-up and Joshua Jackson’s character doesn’t fit the mold to live up to the resolution. OK, I’ve already spent more words than it’s worth.
