Had been putting this off b/c I heard only mixed to negative things out of Fantastic Fest 2010. Now having seen this I wish I had caught this at FF b/c this is a good movie! Vincent Zhao is great as the lead. Weird that the film is actually two separate stories but it works to an extent. Woo-ping has directed a modernized old-school kung fu adventure with dizzying sequences and solid characters. Sure the CGI isn’t great but hardly a distraction. I’d like to own the blu.
