Viewing Notes

Been on a western kick so this came from Netflix as Storm Rider… had no idea this was The Grand Duel until after the fact. Also didn’t know this theme song was used in Kill Bill. Such a great flick that I hope gets a better release someday.

Got the double disc from Netflix and was sad it was a flipper disc w/poor quality transfers for both films. I guess a good transfer isn’t available since the film is in public domain. That’s a shame because this film rocks. Lee Van Cleef carries the weight of the lone gunfighter and sets the tone for the film. Also great that Tarantino repurposes the theme song for Kill Bill. Makes so much sense.
