Viewing Notes

My first film of my second day at SXSW and my first at the Alamo Ritz, a place typically not easy to get into w/o a badge or wristband. But as the first screening, a morning screening, it’s a little easier fortunately.

Unfortunately the movie is more a miss for me. I wanted to like it more but even as a film created by Asians I found it a little offensive as if they were trying too hard to be offensive and strike a nerve. I understand the message but the execution was lacking. It wears indie film on its sleeve and I can appreciate that but not much a fan of the character depictions.

Probably my least favorite of the seven films I saw at SXSW. Too bad.
