Viewing Notes

Marginal 6.0 for me. Has enjoyable parts but they don’t add up to a whole film that pleases me. Odd viewing for me because I felt critical of it as I was watching, i.e. why don’t the Joes wear helmets or head gear when going into a mission? What happened to the other Joes from the first film? Why would a prisoner be kept in full armor while being taken into a prison? Why wear a mask if you’re going to take it off? Who built Cobra branded satellites and launched them? Why would that character turn so quickly? Why can nuclear missiles be launched so easily?

Silly things like those (and others) that probably kept me from enjoying it more. Also not crazy about Bruce Willis. Feels tacked on rather than being a legitimately useful character. Same w/the RZA character. Just kinda dumb. I dunno. I guess this is about the same as the first film but I enjoy the first film more. At least it was fun and felt more like a cohesive film.

I miss Dennis Quaid and Brendan Fraser, who both fit perfectly into the first film w/small but good roles (unlike Willis here). Generally I just miss the enjoyment I experienced with the previous film.
