Viewing Notes

Man, hate to do this but this isn’t a very good movie. I supposed if I had watched this as a kid I’d be nostalgic for it and give it a better rating. Not sure how or why I missed out viewing this b/c it seems like a sure candidate for the Sunday night Disney movie of the week.

I ordered this because A) it’s a 1970 title and I’m woefully lacking in those (my least seen year of film from the entire decade) B) it’s Disney animation and I’m trying to catch up with all of them. But wow is this just dullsville.

Story is lame and the climax is anticlimactic. Also there’s a pretty silly yellow face impersonation that’s stupid and offensive but I let it slide b/c those were the times when it was hilarious to make fun of Asians, right? Also, the offender is a cat. ::shrugs::

I’d rate this lower if not for the decent 2D hand drawn animation. It’s good. Not great but good. Voice acting is good as well. But this was a touch one to watch and I generally love these.
