Viewing Notes

I received free passes to this film from Capone so of course I went to the screening. Chris Folino, the writer and director, was there to introduce the film (William Katt and Jake Busey had already departed after the screening the day before). Was very curious about this film once I learned it was superhero flick based on a graphic novel.

The story is a mash-up of Watchmen, Sin City and Kick-Ass loaded with flawed heroes and total comic book dialogue. It doesn’t have the budget of those films but it does have the heart. Not a great film but entertaining nonetheless. Interesting choice for the festival and I gathered that not many enjoyed as I did. I think it play better as a Wizard World or C2E2 screening w/the proper audience.
