Overview

Viewing Notes
Last film of the festival and last film for us back the last row at the Reel Mountain Theater, which I’ve come to love. Only heard this was a zombie movie just today and that lowered my expectations. I’m just tired of the genre.
This Swedish take on the walking dead doesn’t do anything to elevate the material and provides another “cabin in the woods” scenario that will remain in the back of my mind for every film using that premise. This also borrows heavily from Evil Dead and Dead Alive w/certain camera angles and hyper action in close quarters. Seems to be an intentional nod throughout esp. the gore and blood. Lots of blood.
Not a great film but not terrible. Mostly just tired. But I’ll give it a bump for well done practical FX. That alone kept me engaged. Not a bad way to close out a wonderful film festival. Interesting that this one was picked up by Artsploitation for US distro. Feels a bit too traditional for them.
