Viewing Notes
With G-FEST XX now wrapping up I decided to drop in the sequel to the Mothra flick I watched yesterday. Again this is the Columbia USA release so again dubbed and not quite as good as the previous film. This is much more a family oriented adventure flick as it never seems like there is much at stake even though two giant monsters are fighting.
Probably because the location is a mythical pyramid island serves as the center so less risk. Sure the kids are in a bit of danger and Mothra has to take down the evil Dagahra but it’s hurt by the poor CG in the finale. Dagahra is actually done quite well but since he’s rarely out of water we don’t get the full effect. I’d still watch this again but only the JP version.
