I’m giddy when another AV Idol transitions to acting in standard movie productions (think Aoi Sora). Here we have Kirara Asuka taking another step forward beyond her AV days into a proper B-movie. With her looks I always thought she had more potential than porn and she proves she’s capable of the task.
The low-budget quality of IRON GIRL is apparent from the onset with its one set location. I’m guessing most of the production cost went into creating her costume. Sadly the story gets bogged down with extended dialog scenes attempting to provide exposition rather than letting the action do the talking. That’s unfortunate because the few action sequences are good enough but there is not enough of them.
I’m guessing this is because Kirara doesn’t really have the skills to do much more than she does here. Given the circumstances of short film time (probably a few days) there wasn’t much prep time for her to get trained. Hopefully the film did well for her to get more opportunities. I would love to see her go on to have a great career in making B-movies.
